So Christmas went better than I expected. We went to both of my Christmases, but not Brian's. I feel bad because he didn't get to spend the day with his family, but it was his parents' fault. They moved Christmas last minute from his sister's, which is about a 1 hour and 15 minute drive to their place in Chariton, which is a 2+ hour drive. We didn't want to drive that long with an infant. Anything over an hour and a half was out of the question. So we spent Christmas day just the 3 of us.
I got lots of gift cards, which was to be expected. We got a lot of money to Best Buy, so yesterday Brian went crazy. We have Soul Calibur 4 now (YODA IS FUCKING BROKEN). We also got a game disc repairer so Left 4 Dead works!!!! Yay! I also got Fallout 3 from my mom! So far I love it. And I got some Barnes and Noble gift certificates from my sister and Brian's sister, so I bought some books. I got Emma 3, Pat the Bunny (I loved that book as a kid), Goodnight Moon, and Mouse Soup, and I got myself 3 books. One is called 13 Bullets and it's about vampires. It'll probably be really cheesy, but that's okay. The second one I got is called The Good Faries of New York. It caught my attention because it has a foreward by Neil Gaiman saying how awesome it is. So far I would have to agree. And the final and most epic...no, most legendary book I got is called The Bro Code from How I Met Your Mother. I recommend it to everyone. Emma scored the most loot because women love shopping for babies. We have so much baby clothing it's not even funny.
We're finally getting the nursery set up so that it looks like a nursery. It's no longer resembles a storage room with piles of clothing and toys.
So I checked my grades today and saw that Dr. Swan gave me a D, which means that he either didn't get my final when I emailed it to him or he didn't care that I was in the hospital and had a new baby and that the weather was bad so I couldn't make it to hand deliver the final to him. Either way, I'm extremely upset. I can understand that he is a professor at a University and has standards for people in the class to meet while they're under his tutalege...however I met those requirements and more while being extremely pregnant. Sure, I missed 2 classes. One was because I had a migrane and a super awful cold which I couldn't take anything for so I had to suffer. The other was because I was having really bad false labor contractions and thought I was going to have a baby then and there so I decided that it was probably best if I stayed home instead of causing a comotion in class if I had to leave for the hospital. I was still having them the next week, but I suffered through them, which was more dedication than most college students give to going to class. And I turned in a 12 page paper to him when I could have only written 9 pages. I also did most of the reading for class. Granted, I might have just finished the play when class was starting, but at least I got it done. So I would say that, sure, I'm sorry I was in the hospital, but I put a lot into that class in the hopes of getting a decent grade so I wouldn't have to retake it. And I'm glad he passed me, but I still don't think I deserve a D when I did his final, which ended up being 2 pages typed, while nursing a new born...so I sent him another email, apologizing and begging for reconsideration. I hope that he can still change the grade because I was looking forward to being DONE with English classes because at this point I'm wondering what the point of college was at all because it's not like English majors get jobs anyway. *depressed sigh*
